Exhibition - Fashion as Encounters

In de tentoonstelling Fashion as Encounters, gecureerd door NOT____ENOUGH Collective, wordt de betekenis van mode opnieuw gedefinieerd. Zo worden heersende opvattingen over gender, schoonheid en identiteit binnen het modesysteem uitgedaagd om plaats te maken voor onvertelde verhalen, ongeziene lichamen en bestaande schoonheden die in het verleden zijn uitgewist.

Maar ook dit verhaal is nooit compleet, er is altijd missing content. De actieve inbreng van de bezoeker zorgt ervoor dat de tentoonstelling tot leven komt en groeit. Naast bestaand werk van gastontwerpers die door NOT____ENOUGH Collective zijn geselecteerd, wordt er per thema ook nieuw collectief werk gepresenteerd, speciaal gecreëerd voor de tentoonstelling door makers die zijn gekozen via een open call.

NOT____ENOUGH collective consists of Andrea Chehade Barroux, Mari Cortez and Marina Sasseron de Oliveira Cabral, three South American women based in the Netherlands. With their work, they want to transform the dynamics of oppressors and oppressed imposed by inherited colonial structures. From a personal to a systemic sphere, they collectively exercise non-colonial practices. Their aim is to take up the challenge of forming a plural world together and to initiate change within fashion, design and education.
