Documentary 'WHERE THE FUTURE OF FASHION IS HEADED' now available in English
TV show Tegenlicht calls for Future Fashion Pioneers
Vin + Omi, Orsola de Castro, Otto von Busch: these and other international pioneers visited the Dutch city of Arnhem this summer to join other designers, companies, researchers and consumers in State of Fashion's search for an alternative, more sustainable and inclusive future for fashion. Fashion's current system causes pollution and inequality. During a seven week program of events, we invited national and international guests to join the conversation about how to create change together.
State of Fashion 2018 has come to an end, but the search continues, amongst others through Dutch television platform Tegenlicht. On Sunday 9 december the show broadcasted an episode in which amongst other pioneers Vin + Omi, Castro and Busch were interviewed. Tegenlicht also launched an Open Call for Future Fashion Pioneers online. Together with Peter Leferink (M-ODE Foundation) and designer Jasna Rokegem, José Teunissen (curator of State of Fashion 2018 and Dean of the School of Design and Technology London College of Fashion (UAL)) chose Waag Society's Textile Lab as the winner.
The documentary WHERE THE FUTURE OF FASHION IS HEADED (50 min) will be available in English from 13 February 8 pm CET on, through the YouTube channel of VPRO Tegenlicht.
