Fashion design for a Better world: Fashion Revolution

Fashion Revolution is a global movement demanding greater transparency, as well as environmental and social sustainability, in the fashion industry. Their goal is to ignite a revolution that will radically change the way clothes are sourced, produced and purchased, making sure that the clothes we wear have been made in a safe, clean and fair environment.

On 24 April 2013, The Rana Plaza factory in Bangladesh collapsed and killed 1.138 people. With the hashtag campaign #whomademyclothes, the Fashion Revolution Week encourages millions of consumers to ask fashion brands ‘who made my clothes’ and demand more transparency in the production chains.
